PREIS® drainage systems sound protection

Due to the high density of cast iron, our drainage system meets the strictest noise protection requirements. A correct installation will reduce sound transmission to a minimum. PREIS conducted an acoustic performance test according to DIN 4109 and EN 14366 at the Fraunhofer Institute in Stuttgart, Germany. The results show that PREIS® cast iron pipes fulfil even the most stringent sound protection requirements without any additional, costly measures.

Low sound transmission is one of the key benefits of FP PREIS® SML drainage systems. The high density of cast iron and the buffering effect of the rubber lining in the couplings ensure that sound transmission is minimised. The result: silent drainage as specified in DIN 4109 and required by law that enhances wellbeing in both home and office.

Tested quality

We conducted an acoustic performance test according to DIN 4109 and EN 14366 at the renowned Fraunhofer Institute in Stuttgart, Germany.

Standard FP PREIS® SML pipes and fittings where used for the tests along with the FP PREIS® Rapid couplings for connecting the pipes and standard clamps for fixing them to the walls. FP PREIS® SML proved to be the first choice in terms of fulfilling sound protection requirements using standard products without additional, costly measures. In the test, the sound emissions ranged from 21 to 36 dB.
