Our investment in our subsidiaries in 2021 represents a firm commitment to manufacturing in Europe.
“2021 is sure to be remembered in the annals of PREIS Group history as the year of investment!” declares CEO Peter Jägersberger. Most of the employees at the company’s four sites work in production and are responsible for manufacturing high quality products for PREIS Group customers. These include castings for industrial partners, drainage systems for construction and infrastructure projects, as well as transformer components for the energy sector. Whatever the product, our partners’ high expectations call for ongoing further development and investment in modern technology.
Work on commissioning a new semi-automatic HWS moulding plant is in full swing at the FERRO-PREIS d.o.o. foundry in Čakovec, Croatia. “The test run from October of this year is an ambitious target. With ongoing operations and all the challenges metalworking companies are facing in 2021, we are in some ways pushing ourselves to the limit.
We are, in a sense, operating on a beating heart. Our entire on-site team are doing tremendous work along with our suppliers. With this investment of approx. 6 million euros, we are one of Europe’s most advanced foundries,” says Peter Jägersberger proudly.
600 square metres of office space is currently being built for the quality assurance and production management departments at the PREIS Sevnica metalworking plant in Slovenia. In future, production employees will also have access to a new break room in the production facility’s entrance area.
“It is particularly close to my heart that we will be able to provide many more parking spaces thanks to the purchase of a neighbouring plot. This will significantly alleviate parking issues at the site. The next step will be to develop a logistics concept with a new 1000 m2 loading hall,” says Peter Jägersberger, looking to the future.
A new storage concept for paints and coatings has been developed and already implemented at the PREIS Usora site in Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent months. “There, we are focusing on the optimisation of production processes. This function has been coordinated at group level by our Chief Operational Officer (COO) since March 2021. Relevant projects have already been implemented and we can see the first signs of improvement,” explains Peter Jägersberger enthusiastically.
And last but not least: the headquarters in Pernitz, a town in the north of Austria, are being expanded. There are actually fewer employees on site due to extended opportunities to work from home. As a result, however, the need for rooms where digital meetings and video calls can be held has risen enormously. An entire new floor is therefore being added to the existing building.
A spacious meeting room as well as a flexible employee lounge, to be used for breaks as well as creative work, will contribute to the feel-good atmosphere. A roof terrace will provide further space where employees can enjoy their lunch or simply work in the open air. The basement floor layout will be redesigned in order to establish a versatile and creative working environment for staff. “This new, modern workplace layout provides creative and flexible options for our employees in Pernitz. Along with flexible working hours, we are offering our current and future colleagues an attractive working environment in a successful international company with a more informal, personal corporate culture,” states Peter Jägersberger.
